Munbai: On Saturday, the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai has released the dates of the GATE 2021 exams. According to the notice, posted on the official GATE IIT-B portal, the exam will start from February 5, 2021.
Exam Dates: Friday 5, Saturday 6, Sunday 7, Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February 2021. There are two sessions (morning and afternoon) each day.
With the inclusion of two new subjects on the GATE test, the total number of subjects has increased to 27.
1) ES (Environmental Science and Engineering)
2) XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics / English / Linguistics / Philosophy / Psychology / Sociology.
All GATE 2021 test items would be fully objective.
The question pattern will include some Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), while the remaining questions may include Multiple Choice Questions (MSQ) and / or Numerical Response Type Questions (NAT).
The GATE-2021 scorecard would remain valid for three years from the date of the announcement of the results.
GATE 2021 results are likely to be released online on Monday, March 22, 2021.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national exam conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (in Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of from the National Coordinating Board (NCB) -GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for students who wish to enter and / or receive financial assistance for: (i) master's programs and direct doctoral programs in engineering / technology / architecture and (ii) doctoral programs in relevant branches of the arts and sciences, in institutions supported by the Ministry of Education and other government agencies. Even in some universities and institutions, which admit students without a grant / assistantship from the MoE, the GATE qualification is mandatory. Additionally, many public sector companies (UPM) have been using the GATE score in their hiring process.
